Enhanced cards – interactive invitation

January 26, 2010

Week 2: The task was to produce a novel interactive invitation; I ended up making an invitation to a premiere party.

I went to Clas Ohlson to find some cheap LED lights, and found a really beautiful out-door Christmas decoration, it was cheaper than 40 LED bulbs… And to find a simple rectangular mirror in Oslo was harder then I could imagine, here I ended up with a big sticker-mirror for kids.

So, I built a mock-up to find the right proportions, and tried out different ways to make the bulbs light when the invitation was opened. I also checked out how many of the bulbs I needed in the invitation, to make it look cool and similar to a real make-up mirror.

The Invitation
Peipei is in this context an actress getting a surprise package in her mail one day. When she opening the box the LED lights will shine and she can read the invitation. The tissue paper sticking out of the box can be taken out and is for wiping off the make-up.
