Interactive Toy – Learning Arduino

June 6, 2010

Knurr is an interactive toy with sound for children, designed by Tonje and myself. He has a treasure room in his mouth where you can hide your favorite things or secrets and he will look after them. If you know the secret code he knows you’re his friend and he will give you a happy sound. If not he will let you know you’re not welcome. Knurr comes with a tag as packaging. With this tag you get the secret code. The code is in Knurr’s mouth. His happy sound let you know he has recognised you as his friend and that you can access the secret room. If you’re not Knurr’s friend, not aware of the code and try to access the room, he will growl and let you know you’re not welcome. There is a bending sensor in his lip, which activates when you put your hand in his mouth. If you do the code by putting your hand over his left eye, he gives you his happy sound. This because of the light sensor in his eye. Now you have the access.
